Terms and conditions of Park Flooring Ltd
Appointment times and dates
Fitting appointments are estimates only and are made in good faith, but the exact arrival and duration times cannot be guaranteed due to the nature and unpredictability of the work involved.
Uplift and disposal
If uplift and disposal of existing flooring is required the fitter will only carry out this work if the floor covering is not soiled and there is no health and safety risk to the fitter in respect of the product being uplifted. If you have decided not to opt for this service, it is the customers responsibility to uplift the existing flooring and ensure the sub floor is clean of staples and any backing which can be left by previous flooring prior to the fitters arrival. Any waste materials from the new flooring will be taken away and disposed of. If the customer would like to keep any offcuts, please advise the fitter upon arrival at your home.
Door trimming
Doors may need to be trimmed to allow clearance depending upon the depth of the chosen floor covering. This is a service that we offer at Park Flooring Ltd at a cost of £30 per door. If you have fire doors, external doors or non-wood doors that require trimming, this will need to be carried out by a specialist carpenter and this is not a service which Park Flooring Ltd will either carry out or arrange.
Damage and scuff marks
Fitters undertake to carry out their work with reasonable skill and care, but even with the greatest care home decor may be marked or scuffed during the fitting process. New paintwork and wallpaper is especially vulnerable and should be allowed to fully dry. A minimum of two weeks is recommended.
Park Flooring will not undertake to carry out any redecoration, except where damage has been caused by that persons negligence.
DEPOSITS AND BALANCES
A 50% deposit is required upon placing an order to reserve a fitting date. The balance owing to Park Flooring must be paid at the latest 24 hours prior to
the fitting or delivery of goods. Failure to pay the balance will result in cancellation of the fitting appointment and will incur a minimum cancellation charge of £75 - £120 per fitter per day depending on the size of the job and time that’s been allocated. When an order is placed a contract exists between the consumer and Park Flooring.
Cancellations are not normally acceptable although in extenuating circumstances, where the consumer cancels on reasonable grounds a refund of the deposit may be made at our discretion which will be subject to a charge for any expenses incurred.
Y. All flooring materials remain the property of Park Flooring Limited until payment is made in full.
PRODUCT INFORMATION DATA PROTECTION
All carpet measurements are provided subject to a tolerance of plus or minus 1.25% in accordance with BS3665.
Individual samples will be unlikely to be from current production batches and should only be used as a colour guide not an exact match. Where colour is critical we will obtain a stock cutting from the manufacturer/ supplier. Carpet shades will be as close as reasonably possible to the sample from which selection was made, minor variations may occur.
When new flooring is installed we recommend a new underlay or appropriate preparation is carried out, as this will have a positive impact upon the wear life of the product.
Cut pile carpet products may develop ‘pile reversalʼwhich is a localised change in the direction of pile which alters the pattern of reflected light to give a light and shade effect. This naturally occurring phenomenon does not affect the carpetsresistance to abrasive wear.
On all carpet some tracking marks will occur in heavy traffic areas during the normal wear life of the carpet.
DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION
Park Flooring will liaise closely with the customer over delivery and installation dates to avoid the consumer being inconvenienced if any problems occur.
When placing the order the customer must inform Park Flooring of any critical deadlines by which time the project must be completed.
Any delays in carrying out the installation not within the reasonable control of Park Flooring. will not be our responsibility.
The position of the wiring and piping in vulnerable places must be drawn to the attention of the fitter. The fitter cannot be responsible for the accidental damage to pipe work or cables because of a failure on the consumers part in this respect.
Due to the increasing complexity of these devices the fitter cannot accept responsibility for the disconnection and re-connection of any electrical items and all kitchen appliances.
Due to several variables carpets may ‘relaxʼ in the first few weeks following installation and this may require a re-stretch which the fitter will undertake at no cost during the first six months.
An excess damp reading may delay the fitting of a wood/vinyl flooring.
GUARANTEES
The customer is responsible for the condition of the sub-floor and if additional preparation work is needed to rectify undisclosed faults in the floor, additional charges will be made.
We will provide a free one year guarantee against installation faults, and two years guarantee for proven manufacturing defects on all products.
AFTER SALES
In the first instance, any complaints about the product, the underlay or accessories or the installation should be referred as soon as possible to where every effort will be made to resolve the matter with the minimum of delay.
